The Zenewood E2203 is a wall-mounted key cabinet for buildings where a lot of keys pass through the same door every day. It is meant for back-of-house key management: the office behind a reception desk, the facility manager's room, a plant room corridor, a maintenance store. Instead of a drawer of loose keys or a board with hooks screwed to it, every spare key in the building gets a fixed place on the wall.
The cabinet is steel and screws straight to the wall, so it takes no floor space, nothing has to be lifted out of the way when the corridor is cleaned, and there is nothing on the ground to trip over. Inside, the hooks are set out for a full building key set — master keys, door keys, plant and store keys, vehicle keys — with enough spacing that rings, tags and fobs do not jam against one another once the box is full.
The daily routine stays simple. The duty manager lifts a key off its hook in the morning and hangs it back at the end of the shift, and because the whole set lives in one place, a key that has not come back is noticed during the day rather than at the end of the month. A wall mounted metal key box organizer for commercial building use earns its wall space in a single-floor office just as much as in a multi-storey building where each floor keeps its own set.
· A fixed place for every key — the interior carries multiple hooks rather than a single ring, so the master set, door keys, plant and store keys and vehicle keys all hang at the same time, each in its own position.
· Off the desk, on the wall — screwing the cabinet to the wall keeps it out of the working area, which matters in a reception or a store room where counter space is already tight.
· Keys stay countable — every set hangs on its own hook, so an empty position is easy to spot and a key that has not come back is picked up during the shift instead of at month end.
· A narrow footprint on the wall — the cabinet is taller than it is wide, so it sits on a slim strip of wall beside a door frame rather than needing a large flat panel.
· Room for tagged keys — keys go up on their rings, and the hooks take plastic tags, coloured rings and small fobs too, so this key box organizer makes each set obvious at a glance.
· Repeatable when the set grows — if one cabinet is not enough, a second can be fitted beside it at the same height, so a building's key storage can grow without changing how staff use the wall.

Both the body and the interior of this cabinet are steel. The sheet is galvanized, which means it already carries a zinc coating before anything else is applied — the material we use for utility and outdoor products because it copes with damp air, temperature swings and the odd knock far better than untreated sheet. In a basement facility office, a plant room corridor or an unheated store room, that is the difference between a cabinet that still looks tidy after a few years and one that is blooming rust along the folded edges.
Over the steel sits a powder-coated finish. The powder is sprayed on and cured into a smooth, even film that follows the formed edges and corners properly instead of thinning around the bends the way a brush-applied paint tends to. For a busy office the practical result is a surface that wipes clean, does not hold fingerprints the way bare metal does, and keeps its colour under normal interior lighting. The units in our product photography carry a clean white finish; if your market prefers another colour, ask your sales contact what can be done on your order.
As a wholesale key box manufacturer we form, finish and pack this cabinet in our own plant, and every batch is checked at forming, finishing and packing before it goes into export cartons. Looking after the cabinet takes very little: dust the outside with a soft dry cloth, wipe marks with a barely damp cloth, and keep abrasive pads, scouring powder and solvent cleaners away from the powder coat. If a trolley or a ladder chips the finish, touch the spot in with matching paint so the steel underneath stays covered — that one habit is what keeps a wall-mounted key cabinet looking new for years.
The inside needs a different kind of attention. A key passes over a hook hundreds of times, so the hooks and the edges around the hook rows are deburred before coating, and a key ring, a lanyard or a finger should not catch on the way past. There is nothing inside to oil, grease or treat.
1. Choose the position. Put it where keys are actually collected and returned — on the office wall behind a reception desk, inside the facility office, or in the corridor outside a plant room. Mounting at eye level is recommended, so the hook rows can be read without bending.
2. Check what is behind the plaster. A screw fixing needs something solid to bite into: brick, block, concrete or a timber stud. On plasterboard or a hollow partition, use anchors rated for that board and for the weight of a loaded cabinet, and find out what the wall is really made of before you drill.
3. Mark the fixing points and level them. Hold the cabinet against the wall, check it with a spirit level and mark through the mounting points. A cabinet fitted a few degrees out of level is very obvious in a small room.
4. Drill and fix. Drill to suit the plugs and screws that match the wall you have, then screw the cabinet into position. Fixing on this model is by screws, so the plugs and screws themselves are chosen for the substrate on site.
5. Load the keys and label them. Hang each set on its own hook and use tags or coloured rings so staff can pick out a key without reading a list down the side. Keep a simple key register on the wall beside the cabinet or in the office folder.
6. Test the load. With the hooks full, give the cabinet a gentle pull. If it moves, the fixing is the problem rather than the box — re-tighten, or move to longer screws that reach the stud.
7. Tell everyone where it is. The whole point of a wall-mounted key cabinet is that the team knows where the keys live, so put the position into the induction notes and into the cleaning and maintenance handover.
· Office receptions and back offices — the front door key, the staff entrance, the stationery cupboard and the alarm fob all live on one cabinet behind the desk, so whoever opens up in the morning finds everything in the same place.
· Facility and building management — a wall mounted metal key box organizer for commercial building use gives the facilities team one home for plant room, riser, roof access and meter cupboard keys, with the master set on a hook of its own.
· Serviced and multi-tenant buildings — one cabinet per floor or per tenant keeps the sets apart, which turns a handover to a new tenant or a new cleaner into a two-minute job instead of a search.
· Hospitality and customer-facing premises — shopfront, till, stockroom, delivery door and alarm keys hang in the manager's office, so a shift change passes over the whole set in one movement.
· Warehouses and light industrial units — gate, loading bay, forklift, PPE store and maintenance keys are hung where a supervisor can see what is out and who has it.
· Schools, clinics and shared premises — department keys, equipment cupboard keys and van keys are organised by label, so a relief member of staff can find one without asking three people first.
1. Send us the model number and the quantity you are planning for. This cabinet is made to order, so the quantities and the finishing on your enquiry are what start the scheduling.
2. Ask your sales contact about the minimum order quantity for the finish you have chosen, and confirm it in writing before you build it into your own pricing.
3. Tell us early if the cabinet needs your own branding, a specific colour or a packing format for your market. Those points are normally settled before production starts rather than added afterwards.
4. Ask about sample availability before you commit to a volume order, so you can check the steel, the powder-coated finish and the hook spacing against the keys your customers actually carry.
5. Confirm the shipping terms, the destination port and the packing specification with your sales contact. Export cartons for steel products are planned around the container you are loading.
6. Ask your sales contact to confirm the current lead time when you place the order — it depends on the production queue and on the finish you have asked for.
7. If the same programme also covers coded key safes, mailboxes, parcel boxes or tool storage, say so at enquiry stage. We would rather quote the range together than have you place the same order twice.
· Settle the access question before the model. This cabinet keeps a whole building key set in one place, but as a hook-based key box organizer it does not by itself decide who may take a key off the wall. If restricting access is the reason for the purchase, say so on the enquiry so you are quoted the right unit instead of this one.
· Where the cabinet itself has to be locked, the key storage range covers lockable wall mounted key boxes as well as wall mounted key safes built around a combination code lock and hooks. Tell your sales contact how many people need access and how often, and they will confirm which of the two suits the set you are hanging.
· A combination code takes the loose cabinet key out of the picture. The code can be issued to a duty manager, a cleaner or a contractor and set to a new number at the end of a tenancy or a service contract, which is why coded units are the usual choice for property management and serviced buildings.
· A locked cabinet answers a different problem: one holder of the cabinet key issues the keys stored inside, which suits a small office where the manager or administrator already controls the master set.
· Be clear about which level you are locking — the cabinet door, or the individual keys. If keys are signed in and out, agree the register and the tagging with your sales contact so the labelling, and any numbering along the hook rows, matches the way your team works.
· This cabinet is built for interior positions: behind a reception desk, in the facilities office, along a plant-room corridor, in a maintenance store. Keep it off any wall that takes the weather directly.
· For an external meter cupboard, a site-cabin door, a key locker used for property viewings, or any other exposed position, ask for a key storage model specified for outdoor mounting. Tell your sales contact what the wall is made of and what the site does to it — driving rain, coastal salt air, strong sun or hard frost — so the finish and the fixing are quoted for that place rather than this model being hung outside.
· A damp interior room is a grey area. The galvanized steel body and powder-coated finish handle humid air, but do not fix the cabinet where steam or running condensation reaches it, such as over a sink or beside a boiler. If the wall stays wet enough to stream, treat the position as outdoor and ask us first.

How many keys will this key box organizer hold?
There is no single number, because it depends on how the keys are hung: loose keys take far less room than the same set on bulky plastic tags or a heavy chain. The cabinet is built with multiple hooks for a full building set, and a typical office hangs master keys, door keys and plant or store keys on it with the rows still easy to read. Send us your key list and tell us whether you use tags or fobs, and we will tell you how it lays out.
What is the cabinet made of, and will it hold up in a humid building?
The body is galvanized steel with a powder-coated finish — the same combination we use across our utility and outdoor ranges, chosen because it handles damp air better than bare or lightly painted sheet. In a humid plant room or a basement store, mount the cabinet away from direct steam and running condensation and wipe it down occasionally. There is nothing inside that needs oiling or treating.
Can it be mounted on plasterboard or a partition wall?
Yes, as long as the fixing suits the board. This model is fixed with screws: on a solid wall — brick, block, concrete or a stud — ordinary screws will do, while plasterboard and hollow partitions need anchors rated for that board and for the weight of a fully loaded cabinet. Fixing into a stud is always the better option where one is available. Tell us how the wall is built and we will tell you what to ask your installer for.
Can this key box be used outdoors?
We supply this model for indoor key management in offices, stores and facility rooms. If you need a key box on a gate post, an outside wall or an unheated outbuilding, tell your sales contact where it will hang and what the weather does there — the range includes key storage models specified for more exposed positions, and we would rather point you to the right one than have you fit this model outside.
Can it be supplied with our logo or in a different finish?
Both are worth raising early. As a wholesale key box manufacturer we produce to order rather than from stock, so branding, finish and packing are normally agreed before production starts. Talk to your sales contact about logo or marking, colour and bulk packing, and they will confirm what is possible for this model.
